Product Overview

13C is the compact voltage output model in Series 13, focused on miniaturisation, low power consumption and excellent price/performance. The output range is 0.1-4.9 V, compatible with the input interfaces of most industrial analog acquisition cards and mobile equipment control units.

A dual +5 Vdc or 12 Vdc supply design adapts flexibly to on-board 12 V systems and 5 V industrial bus systems, with no additional voltage conversion module required.

The low 40 mA power consumption reduces the load on the system power supply, making it particularly suitable for battery-powered operation or multiple sensors on a common line. IP68 protection (up to IP69K with an M12 connector) guarantees reliable operation under extreme conditions such as high-pressure washing, heavy rain and mud.

25 g vibration resistance (10-2000 Hz band) and 100 g shock resistance, with a precision cast stainless steel housing - a perfect match for the severe vibration of construction machinery and harsh outdoor conditions.

Operating Principle

The 13C uses the same non-contact magnetostrictive measurement principle as Series 13: the current pulse in the waveguide superimposes with the external magnet field to generate a strain wave, and the electronics module calculates absolute position from the arrival time difference of the strain wave. What makes the 13C special is its extremely simple voltage output interface (0.1-4.9 V) and ultra-low power design (40 mA), suiting mobile equipment with tight space and limited battery or bus power.

Typical Applications

Hydraulic cylinder position detection on compact construction machinery (mini excavators, skid steer loaders)Hydraulic control on agricultural machinery (tractors, seeders)Lift position feedback for electric forklifts and stackersHeight limiting for mobile lifting equipmentSanitation vehicle hydraulic systemsPosition detection for battery-powered mobile equipment

Installation Precautions

  • Fix the position magnet with a non-ferromagnetic circlip; ferromagnetic materials will affect measuring accuracy.
  • For the 10 mm diameter sensing rod, the minimum bore diameter should be 13.5 mm to ensure adequate installation clearance.
  • Keep a clearance of at least 3 mm between the end of the sensing rod and the bottom of the bore to prevent mechanical impact damage to the sensing element.
  • Intended for mobile hydraulic equipment. The mounting surface must be flat and parallel to the cylinder axis so that no extra bending moment is applied to the sensor.
  • With a +5 Vdc supply the output is 0.1-4.9 V; with a +12 Vdc supply the output range is scaled proportionally. Wire according to the supply type confirmed at the time of order.
  • This series is rated as high as IP68 to IP69K and withstands high-pressure washing and brief immersion, but the electrical connectors must still be tightened and sealed according to specification.

Pricing Notes

The 13C compact voltage output version is priced below the 13M analog / bus models, making it the economical choice for budget-sensitive mobile hydraulic applications. The price depends on the measuring range, mechanical interface and cable length.
