The P-type external version is the most versatile form in Series 19, using an aluminium profile housing that is light yet robust. It supports very long stroke measurement (up to 4050 mm and beyond) and comes with a rich range of mounting accessories - U brackets, V brackets, ball joint fittings, universal joints - to suit various installation methods. The profile magnet design makes installation easier and adjustable. Multiple electrical interfaces are available (analog / digital / bus). IP67 protection, anodised aluminium profile. Widely used for position feedback in injection molding machines, die casting machines, rubber machinery, woodworking and other industrial equipment. The most cost-effective choice in the process series.

Product Overview

The P-Type external version is the most widely used and best value product form in Series 19. The aluminium profile housing is light yet rugged, and after anodising offers excellent corrosion resistance and a quality finish.

Supports extra-long stroke measurement of up to 6000 mm and beyond, one of the core advantages of the P-type over other versions. Backed by the industry's most comprehensive range of mounting accessories: U-brackets, V-brackets, ball joints, universal joint couplings, floating brackets and more - able to adapt to virtually any installation space and method.

The rail-mounted magnet ring makes on-site installation and commissioning extremely convenient - the ring can be slid freely to any position on the aluminium profile and then locked, with no need to calculate an initial offset precisely. IP67 protection ensures long-term reliable operation in oily, wet and dusty environments.

Operating Principle

The P type uses the external magnetostrictive measurement principle. The sensor body is a high-quality aluminium profile housing (anodised surface treatment) enclosing the waveguide and electronics module; an external profile permanent magnet (position magnet) fits around the outside of the profile and moves with the measured object, triggering a magnetostrictive strain wave in the waveguide. The electronics module detects the strain wave time difference and outputs the position signal. The aluminium profile housing also acts as a heat sink and electromagnetic shield, keeping the electronics module stable in accuracy during long-term operation.

Installation Precautions

  • 19P uses an external aluminium profile housing suited to long strokes. Mount the profile flat and straight on the machine structure and avoid twisting it.
  • The magnet ring slides with the moving part; keep it parallel to the rod with a uniform gap.
  • For long strokes, watch deflection and support; add intermediate supports where necessary to prevent sagging.
  • For bus versions, set the node address and terminating resistor as required by the protocol.
  • The ring magnet must not touch the rod; a non-contact measuring gap must be maintained.
  • Protect the sensor rod against wear and mechanical impact.

Pricing Notes

19P is the external long-stroke version (aluminium profile housing). The price varies significantly with stroke length, output signal and profile specification; long strokes and bus versions cost relatively more. Please provide the stroke and mounting method to obtain a quotation.
