Series 19F Flexible Process Displacement Sensor Application Cases

The 19F uses a flexible cable-type measuring rod: long stroke, compliant and bendable, it can be routed along a guideway where space is tight or the path is complex — ideal for long-stroke position detection on large machines, gates, warehousing and material handling systems.
Below are on-site photos from a large metallurgical production line: engineers commissioning and wiring a 19F flexible displacement sensor installed on a long-stroke guideway. The overview shot shows the layout of the whole line and the sensor's actual position within the equipment; the close-up clearly shows the GermanJet 19F sensor body, the M12 industrial connector, and the flexible rod routed along the guideway together with the cable carrier.
As a member of the Series 19 process family, the 19F supports industrial fieldbus output for easy integration into automated control systems. During installation, guide the flexible rod through a non-ferromagnetic protective tube and avoid direct contact between the position magnet and the guide rod, to safeguard measuring accuracy and service life.
The 19F has a small front dead zone (typically 50/130 mm), so it still delivers a usable effective measuring range in long-stroke applications — an economical solution for long-stroke non-contact displacement measurement.
