Multi-Industry Application Cases for Magnetostrictive Displacement Sensors

Magnetostrictive displacement sensors work on a non-contact absolute position principle: a current pulse inside the waveguide interacts with the magnetic field of the external position magnet to generate a strain wave, and the electronics module derives position from the arrival-time difference of that wave. There is no mechanical wear anywhere in the process, so theoretical service life matches that of the host machine — ideal for continuous production where frequent shutdowns for maintenance are not an option.
In injection molding, the sensor delivers real-time absolute position feedback for the injection cylinder, safeguarding part consistency and yield. In mobile hydraulics, IP68/IP69K protection together with 25 g vibration and 100 g shock resistance keeps it running reliably for years on excavators, cranes and other construction machinery. In process industries, models with CANBus / Profibus / Profinet / EtherCAT fieldbus outputs integrate seamlessly with PLC and DCS systems.
