Series 17 Hydraulic Cylinder Integrated Magnetostrictive Displacement Sensor Application Cases

The Series 17 is Germanjet's most widely used magnetostrictive displacement sensor in the injection molding industry. It can be fitted into any conventional hydraulic cylinder, giving it intelligent position feedback. Its standard DIN 43650 electrical interface and 0-10 V / 4-20 mA / SSI / CANBus outputs suit the vast majority of injection molding and die casting machine control systems.

Non-contact measurement means no wear and no maintenance: repeatability stays at the μm level through millions of mold open/close cycles, directly improving part consistency and yield. From 6,600-ton ultra-large injection molding machines down to small and medium precision machines, the Series 17 has proven applications across the board.

Beyond injection molding, the Series 17 is also widely used for closed-loop position control in hydraulic presses, servo presses, heavy metallurgical equipment and construction machinery cylinders — the standard route to smarter hydraulic cylinders.
